A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent an erroneous discharge by suppressing an excessive sustain discharge by adding a rest period between adjacent sustain pulses. A plasma display device includes a PDP(Plasma Display Panel,100) and a driving unit(104). Scan and sustain electrodes are formed in parallel to each other on the PDP. The driving unit supplies a scan pulse to the scan electrode during an address period and supplies a sustain pulse to the scan and/or sustain electrode during the sustain period after the address period. In at least one of plural sub-fields in a frame, a first reset period is included between a last scan pulse and a first sustain pulse. The last scan pulse is supplied to the scan electrode. The first sustain pulse is supplied to the scan and/or sustain electrodes.
