An assembly aid for assembling telescopic rails, or drawer runners, has a metal or plastic profile (1) clipped over the end of the outer rail (5) to align the inner rail for insertion into the outer rail. The aid has sloping guides (6, 6') and is clipped to the outer rail via two grip arms (8, 8'). The aid is removed after completed assembly of the rails.
