PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine which enables a preferable visual recognition of the inside of a spin basket. SOLUTION: The washing machine includes a spin basket rotating around a rotation axis A and into which laundry is introduced and an illumination means 8 for irradiating the inside of the spin basket with an illumination, the illumination means 8 includes a light source 51 for emitting the illumination light and a light guide plate 52 having a ring shape in which a through hole is formed in a center portion in a depth direction and guiding the illumination light, and the illumination light is emitted from the opening portion on the outside of the spin basket to the inside of the basket.
