PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device allowing a road to be displayed easily visibly even when the road and traffic congestion specifying information showing a traffic congestion situation are displayed simultaneously, by preferentially displaying the road when the road and the traffic congestion specifying information are overlapped and displayed. SOLUTION: In the map display device, when a map image including the road is displayed on a liquid crystal display 15 and the map is displayed on a scale of 1/80,000 or less where especially the image showing traffic congestion information such as a traffic congestion specifying line 71 and an image of a high-standard road 73 are overlapped and displayed (S8:YES), a first drawing order of displaying the high-standard road 73 in preference to the traffic congestion specifying line 71 and a traffic congestion history specifying line 72 is set as the drawing order (S10), and the image is drawn (S11).
