The adapter has a load mechanism (4) including a cassette receiver and a guide for the receiver, where the mechanism transfers a cassette from a feed position to a transfer position. A gear mechanism is arranged between a drive and a contact surface, which is provided at the guide as a toothed rack. The mechanism transports the cassette receiver along the guide. The mechanism is manufactured by injection molding. An independent claim is also included for a data-processing equipment including a data drive assembly with an adapter.
