A device for supplying hardware version information in a mobile terminal and a method therefor are provided to enable the terminal to offer self hardware information even though hardware version information is not stored in a memory unit, while the hardware version information is easily recovered by the deletion of the memory unit. A memory unit(102) stores a version information table which contains intrinsic hardware information and hardware version information individually corresponding to the hardware information according to each hardware version of a mobile terminal. A controller(100) comprises a hardware information generator(116) which generates the intrinsic hardware information according to a self hardware version, and extracts the self hardware version information from the version information table by using the generated hardware information.
