PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To integrate the functions of a commutator segment, a commutator fixing base, and a spark quenching element and, in addition, construct the spark quenching element so that an ordinary disk construction in a ring shape can be used as a commutator without change. SOLUTION: A commutator construction includes a flat spark quenching element in a ring shape as a whole. It is constructed by sticking multiple metal film segments to the surface of the flat spark quenching element so that a groove is provided between segments. The spark quenching element is fixed on a side face of a magnetic pole core on the opposite side to its metal film formation face. At the same time, an end of its winding is connected to the outer circumferential side of a metal film segment.
