PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for performing relay control of data based on information (semantic information) having specific meanings such as an address, cc and title similarly as in the case of an e-mail using SMTP even in the case of an e-mail (Web mail) using an HTTP. SOLUTION: A relay server 101 first accesses an HTTP server 105 which provides a homepage for providing service for transmitting and receiving the e-mail using an HTTP protocol, when operation input regarding an e-mail for transmission is performed via the homepage on the side of a client terminal 102 by which an operation on the homepage is possible, receives information regarding the e-mail transmitted from the client terminal 102. Then, a type of the operation performed about the e-mail is specified based on the information to perform processing according to the specified type.
