<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake preventive of heterogeneous metal contact corrosion even when combining a brake pad having a copper plated layer on a back plate with an aluminum alloy piston having a chrome plated layer on the surface. <P>SOLUTION: The disc brake comprises the piston 8 mounted in a caliper body 2 and having the chrome plated layer on the surface of an aluminum alloy piston base, and the brake pads 14A, 14B to be thrust toward a disc rotor D and each having the copper plated layer on the back face of the back plate 16. On the piston 8, a separator 20 is mounted which is formed of a metal or an alloy having electrode potential higher than an aluminum alloy and lower than the copper plated layer. The separator 20 separates the piston 8 from the back plate 16 of each of the brake pads 14A, 14B to prevent metal contact corrosion due to the contact of the piston 8 with the copper plated layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
