PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block for revetment and its placement method for adjusting an end part of the revetment face to improve workability by covering the substantially whole revetment face, by which a space can be formed between adjacent blocks in the longitudinal direction of the slope of the revetment face upon being placed, flexibility between connected blocks is improved, and settlement of covering soil and growth of plants are not interrupted when served as a covering soil revetment. SOLUTION: An end-mating projecting part 3 is provided at a substantially center part of each of longitudinal side faces or at the side face of a horizontal rod-like block body 2 having a chevron-like top face in the longitudinal cross section. A through hole 4 is formed in the end-mating projecting part 3 in a manner of piercing both side faces in the longitudinal direction of the block body 2. At least one side face of the block body 2 in the longitudinal direction is formed to be an inclined face 6 having a predetermined inclination from one side end to the other side end in the width direction.
