PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a apparatus of controlling video data recording reproduction for continuously applying cache recording to a program, which a user has unintentionally viewed at first, even during a viewing period of another program, the cache recording being applicable to the case such that the user switches its view channel from the program having unintentionally so far viewed to the other program and thereafter the user finds out that the user overlooks an important scene when the user restores the view channel to the program which the user has unintentionally viewed at first. SOLUTION: A tuner 1 in two tuners receives a channel instructed by the user. When the video data recording reproduction control apparatus references channel priority information on the basis of a user's view history and judges that the channel viewed by the user is a channel with the highest priority in comparison with the other channels, the apparatus locks the tuner 1, and when the user selects another channel, the control apparatus continues the reception of and temporary recording of the channel with the highest priority by the tuner 1, and allows the other tuner 2 to receive a channel requested by the user.
