A plasma display apparatus is provided to prevent an energy recovery circuit from being electrically damaged, by synchronizing driving control signals for driving plural energy recovery circuit modules. A plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel, plural energy recovery circuit modules(500,510), and a synchronization unit(520). The plasma display panel includes sustain electrodes. The energy recovery circuit modules include energy recovery circuits, which supply a sustain voltage to the plasma display panel through the sustain electrodes and collect a reactive power from the plasma display panel. The synchronization unit synchronizes driving control signals, which are input to the plural energy recovery circuit modules.
