<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress, at a low cost, transfer efficiency from falling from the optimum range as time passes. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor for holding a toner image thereon; a primary transfer roller 62a that sandwiches an intermediate transfer belt between the photoreceptor and itself; a transfer power source 62b that applies a transfer voltage to the primary transfer roller; and a constant voltage control section 62c that controls the transfer power source so that the output voltage of the transfer power source is maintained at a controlled voltage value. The image forming apparatus is provided with a storage section 81 that stores a cumulative application time in which a transfer voltage is applied to the primary transfer roller; and a main control part 80 that determines whether the cumulative application time stored in the storage section has passed a specified time or not and that switches the controlled voltage value used by the constant voltage control section if it is determined that the cumulative application time has passed the specified time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
