<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit which moves an object with high precision by supporting a piezoelectric device with a supporting member made of resin material, and a method for fabrication thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A driving shaft 14 is provided to a piezoelectric device 12, a member to be driven 16 is provided in a way that it can be moved in a longitudinal direction of the driving shaft 14, and a supporting member 5 for supporting the piezoelectric device 12 is provided by filling and hardening a resin material between the piezoelectric device 12 and a standstill member 10. Thus, the resin material can be filled and hardened after the piezoelectric device 12 and the driving shaft 14 are positioned in predetermined locations, so that the piezoelectric device 12 and the driving shaft 14 can be positioned at correct locations quickly.
