<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of securing sheet separation performance and suppressing image deterioration. <P>SOLUTION: A sheet to which a toner image 13 is transferred in a state adsorbed to an image carrier 1 is separated from the image carrier 1 by a separation means 8 and directed to a fixing means 12. A separation assist means 17 sticks separating toner for assisting the separation of the sheet 13 from the image carrier 1 by the separation means 8 to a portion to be whitened after development out of an electrostatic latent image in accordance with the separability of the sheet 13 from the image carrier 1 by a first method for converting a developing condition of a developing means 4 or a second method for forming an electrostatic latent image for sticking the separating toner on the whitened portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
