<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost of an occupant protection device for a vehicle constituted of an air bag device and a knee protection device. <P>SOLUTION: An inflator 32 to be a gas generation means of the air bag device 3 is connected to a gas cylinder 41 to be an elongation means of the knee protection device 4 via a communication pipe 8. A rod 41b of the gas cylinder 41 is elongated by gas generated by the inflator 32.
