A multimedia contents service method using object recognition and a system thereof are provided to recognize information on an object included in an image, and to configure contents for the recognized information to offer the contents to a user, then to provide the information on the object to the user in real time if the user demands the information by using an interactive multimedia contents service. A photographing apparatus(110) takes an image into which object information is inserted, recognizes object information within the taken image, and configures object information contents for particular object information of the recognized object information, then provides the configured contents to a user. An object information service server(120) provides additional object information to the photographing apparatus.
