PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation type brake device capable of being miniaturized by a resonance circuit in no use of a capacitor and capable of generating an optimum braking force at all speeds. SOLUTION: This power generation type brake device, using a motor current by regenerative power generated by a motor after an exciting current is cut off, includes a converter device which inputs the motor current and operates on a main-circuit power supply voltage obtained from the regenerative power.
