An optical disk reproducing device and an image output method using the device are provided to selectively apply power for outputting only an outputtable image signal, and to output one image signal from decoded data according to the applied power, thereby effectively outputting the corresponding image signal. A reproducing unit(110) comprises the following. A video power unit(202) selectively applies power for outputting only one of preset composite, RGB(Red,Green,Blue), S-video, and component signals. A composite unit(204) outputs the composite signal when being applied with the power. An RGB unit(206) outputs the RGB signal when being applied with the power. An S-video unit(208) outputs the S-video signal when being applied with the power. A component unit(210) outputs the component signal when being applied with the power.
