HANDOVER CONTROL METHOD

During a handover, a handover source base station (BS1) stores a data packet addressed to a mobile station, instructs the mobile station (MS) to switch its communication to a handover destination base station, and requests an upper-order station (MCS) to switch, as a base station for communicating with the mobile station, from the handover source base station to the handover destination base station (BS2). In response to the switching request, the upper-order station, if being able to store the data packet, start storing the data packet addressed to the mobile station in place of the handover source base station. When the mobile station becomes able to communicate with the handover destination base station, the upper-order station transmits the stored data packet to the mobile station via the handover destination base station.
