PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional unit capable of easily coping with addition or extension of functions of a housing equipment apparatus. SOLUTION: The functional unit is constituted of: a basic function module 2a connected to a power line L1 and an information line L2 respectively via the power path connection port 13a and the information path connection port 13b of a gate unit 1 embedded and arranged in a switch box 90 buried in a built face; and an extended function module 3a connected to the power line L1 and the information line L2 via the basic function module 2a. As both the function modules, a function module 3a for displaying video image, a function module 3b for inputting/outputting audio, a function module 3c for executing operation entries, and a function module 3a provided with functions of a control module for cooperating each of the function modules 3a to 3c to carry out operations of the housing equipment apparatus are provided.
