<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which reduces the consumption of a developer and is capable of preventing image fogging caused by deterioration of the developer. <P>SOLUTION: A bias application part 101 applies a DC bias and an AC bias to a developing sleeve 55, and a bias control part 111 applies at least one of a DC bias, by which a potential difference between a surface potential of a photoreceptor drum 20 and a DC bias of a developing sleeve 55 is increased to a prescribed number of or more times as large as that during normal printing, and an AC bias, by which an AC bias of the developing sleeve 55 is increased to a prescribed number of or more times as large as that during normal printing, at a prescribed timing according with the deterioration of the developer to fly the developer stuck to the developing sleeve 55 toward the photoreceptor drum 20, and the developer stuck to the photoreceptor drum 20 is removed by a cleaning device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
