Provided is a secondary battery of which the welding strength is increased by widening the welding part and in which the separation of the electrode tap of an electrode assembly from a can is prevented. The secondary battery comprises an electrode assembly which comprises two electrode having an electrode tap and a separator interposed between the two electrodes for preventing the shortage between the two electrodes; a container-type can which accommodates the electrode assembly; and a cap assembly which seals the aperture of the can with a gasket, wherein the welded part(127) formed by welding at least one of the electrode tap with the bottom of the can has a shape of a closed curved surface or some part of circle.
