PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for an internal combustion engine capable of inhibiting increase of cooling loss accompanying intensification of swirl flow. SOLUTION: A plurality of guide members 12 are provided on a top surface 10a of a piston 10 of the internal combustion engine. Turning component is given to squish flow Fs flowing on the top surface of the piston 10 by the guide members 12.
