PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for preventing hand roughness without impairing detergency in a detergent for dish. SOLUTION: The detergent for dish comprises an alkanediol represented by general formula 1 (wherein m is an integer of≥3 and≤8) and preferably further comprises oleic acid monoglyceride. The content of the alkanediol is preferably 0.1-5 mass% and the content of the oleic acid monoglyceride is preferably 0.1-5 mass% and the mass ratio of the alkanediol to the oleic acid monoglyceride is (1:2) to (2:1).
