<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device (a side curtain air bag) which smoothly absorbs impact applied on an occupant, by solving a problem wherein inner pressure of main inflating portions (inflating portions) formed in an expanding portion (an air bag element) abruptly changes. <P>SOLUTION: The inflating portion comprises: the main inflating portions (first and second main inflating portions) 71, 76 positioned at the seating positions of occupants 28, 29; and sub inflating portions (first, second, and third sub inflating portions) 73, 75, 78 always communicated with the main inflating portions 71, 76 through (first, second, and third diameter contracting portions) 72, 74, 77, and provided in positions shifted from the seating positions of the occupants 28, 29.
