A knitting system is provided to reduce the abrasion between a butt and a guide track, by forming the butt such that one or more edges are enclosed by side surfaces in an obtuse angle. A knitting system comprises a body(3) positioned inside a guide slot. The body has two side surfaces and at least one narrow side(16). The body is formed in a flat design. The knitting system has at least one butt(18) for driving component parts of the knitting system by a cam. The butt has one or more edges(19,20) extending from the narrow side of the body, wherein the edges of the butt is enclosed by the side surfaces in an obtuse angle.
