A deformable dispensing tube 1 for containing fluid or viscous substances has an internal device 8, initially located at the sealed end 3 of the tube and adapted to move towards the formed opening 5 at the tube's opposite end when an external force is applied to the tube onto or near the internal device to dispense the contents 16 of the tube through the formed opening. The internal device 8 may be rigid or deformable. Deformable embodiments of the device are preferably resilient. A deformable centre (28, fig 21) of the device may be made from an elastomer material or foamed rubber or may comprise a formed outer skin filled with fluid, gel or gas. A protrusion (12, fig 9) at forward end of the device is adapted to mate with the formed opening 5 to expel as much of the contents of the tube as possible. A flexible seal (15, fig 9) may be provided whereby the sealing pressure between the device and the inner wall of the tube increases as pressure from the contents increases. Non-return features (26, fig 9) which act on the inner walls of the dispensing tube to prevent movement of the device towards the sealed end of the tube are provided at the tail end of the internal device. |
