A noble method for manufacturing a ceramic honeycomb filter from a porous ceramic honeycomb material, particularly from monolith is provided, wherein the fiber obtained by using the method generates very good adhesion of a sealing material to walls of the monolith and excellent sealing hold formed on one end of each channel accordingly. As a method for manufacturing a ceramic honeycomb filter from a porous ceramic honeycomb material including a plurality of channels extending therethrough from one end surfaces to the other end surfaces, the method comprises at least following steps of: (a) providing a perforated film manufactured by irradiating a strong radiation onto a film on each end surface of the honeycomb material, wherein the perforation is performed in the film such a way that channels crossing the material are alternately opened at one or other portion on the end surfaces of the channels, and adjacent channels are closed with respect to respective opened channels on the one end surfaces accordingly; and (b) obtaining a ceramic filter by introducing a sealing material into opened channels by the suction through perforation of the film applied onto respective end surfaces, wherein the channels are not sealed on one end surfaces, but sealed on the other end surfaces.
