An apparatus and method for driving an engine of a combined gasoline and LPG vehicle are provided to remove an unnecessary communication line by combining a gasoline ECU(Electric Control Unit) and a sub ECU. An apparatus for driving an engine of a combined gasoline and LPG vehicle includes an engine controller(11), a gasoline fuel pump(13), a gasoline injector(17), a cylinder(19), a gas fuel pump(21), a gas fuel tank(23), and a gas injector(25). The engine controller includes an actuator driver(11a), an injector driver(11b), and a controller(11c). The gasoline fuel pump pumps a gasoline fuel in a gasoline fuel tank into the gasoline injector. The fuel is injected into the cylinder. The gas fuel pump pumps a gas fuel in the gas fuel tank to the gas injector. The actuator driver generates an LPG fuel pump signal to supply the LPG fuel into the gas injector.
