<p>The hub, consisting of a body designed to receive a spindle, has a tubular shell of a composition material with resin-coated fibres incorporating one or more layers of fibres in the shape of at least one tubular sleeve (28, 30) with a braided structure, e.g. of carbon fibre strips. One sleeve (28) can have fibres (32) running axially, and another (30) has braided fibres lying at an angle to the axial direction. The hub shell is made in a mould closed by an expandable core formed e.g. by an inflatable bladder, and it has a flange at each end, at least one of which is made from metal.</p> |
