<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow golf club head with a large ball launch angle and high repulsiveness when hitting a ball, with increased carry, and with excellent hitting feeling and hitting sound. <P>SOLUTION: The golf club head has thin areas 14a and 16b whose thickness is 0.3-0.6 mm on the face side of a crown part 14 and a side part 16. An intermediate thick area 14b is disposed in the rear of the thin area of the crown part, and a thick area 14c is disposed in the rear of the intermediate thick area of the crown part.
