PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color matching processing apparatus and method, program and storage medium in which the burden of a user is reduced as little as possible and high-accuracy color reproduction can be achieved under an illumination light source with which the user observes an image. SOLUTION: A color matching processing apparatus 1 provided in a personal computer 5 outputs a light source estimation check pattern stored in a light source estimation check pattern data storage section 2 using an image output device, and the user selects and switches to an optimal color profile based on a result of evaluating this outputted light source estimation check pattern and then performs color conversion on image data stored in an image storage section 11.
