PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display information needed by a player at a portable terminal device so as to be recognized at a glance and to efficiently provide the player with the information as needed from the large amount of information. SOLUTION: The information providing apparatus comprises: an identification data reception means for receiving player identification data from the portable terminal device; an information storage means for storing two or more pieces of game machine information; a selection data reception means for receiving selection data indicating that one piece of game machine information is selected from the two or more pieces of game machine information from the portable terminal device; a transmission means for transmitting the one piece of game machine information to the portable terminal device on the basis of the received selection data; a history storage means for storing the transmission history data of the transmitted game machine information corresponding to the player identification data; a judgement means for judging whether or not the same game machine information as the one piece of the game machine information indicated by the selection data is transmitted previously on the basis of the received player identification data and the transmission history data; and an inhibition means for inhibiting the transmission of the game machine information when the same game machine information is transmitted previously.
