PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved apparatus and an improved method for determining a density of a metal-inclusive component. SOLUTION: A density evaluator 10, for a metal-inclusive component C, includes a simulator 14 and a meter 16. The simulator 14 includes a receiving portion for receiving at least a portion of the metal-inclusive component C. The meter 16 is connected operably with the simulator 14. An inductance value L<SB>m</SB>associated with the metal-inclusive component C containing metal is obtained by the meter 14, and the inductance value L<SB>m</SB>is used to determine a density value D<SB>m</SB>.
