PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a positive-locking connection between a plastic workpiece and an another workpiece in a short time and without considerable outlay in terms of apparatus. SOLUTION: This method of connecting the plastic workpiece to the other workpiece, and the device for executing the method comprise a step for providing the plastic workpiece and the other workpiece, a step for placing the other workpiece against the plastic workpiece, a step for providing a connecting element on a surface of the plastic workpiece, this surface being opposite the surface against which the other workpiece bears, a step for producing a recess in the other workpiece, this recess being provided on the surface bearing against the plastic workpiece, a step for heating the connecting element, so that the material of the connecting element is plasticized, and a step for pressing plasticized material into the recess.
