<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge tube which can rectify effectively chromaticity when light adjustment of a liquid crystal display is changed, and provide a backlight using the tube. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight device is provided with a first discharge tube and a second discharge tube and the variation of all light flux emitted by the first discharge tube is smaller than the variation of the all light flux emitted by the second discharge tube, and the first discharge tube is coated with a first phosphor, and the second discharge tune is coated with a second phosphor of which the variation of the relative strength of wave-length converted light is smaller than the variation of the relative strength of wavelength-converted light in the first phosphor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
