PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning apparatus for a coating machine, in which not only the top end and its surrounding area of a head of the coating machine but also a specified area along the axial direction of the head from the top end of the head can be cleaned sufficiently. SOLUTION: The cleaning apparatus for a coating machine cleans the head of a coating machine from the top end of the head to a specified area along the axial direction of the head. The apparatus has a supporting means 20 which supports the head 4 with its top end downside, an annular member 40 which can move in the axial direction as coaxially surrounding the head supported by the supporting means 20, spray ports of a cleaning liquid formed on the inner wall face of the annular member 40 in a plurality of numbers at specified intervals in the circumference direction to spray the cleaning liquid to the head 4, and a moving means which moves the annular member 40 to spray the cleaning liquid successively from the top end to the lower end of the area to be cleaned of the head 4.
