A method and a system for providing a dialing service using multi-string input in a mobile terminal are provided to conveniently execute dialing without the necessity of storing or memorizing phone numbers by inputting an easily associable multi-string. A system for providing a dialing service using multi-string input comprises a mobile terminal(110), a BS(Base Station), an MSC(123), and an SCP(Service Control Point)(127). The mobile terminal converts an inputted multi-string containing the first string, a token ".", and the second string into a conversion number using a conversion function, allocates an identifier to the conversion number, creates a destination number, and sends a call request message containing the destination number. The BS establishes a radio channel in response to a radio channel setup request from the mobile terminal, and transmits the call request message, received from the mobile terminal, to the MSC. The MSC, connected with the BS, receives the call request message. Based on the identifier, the MSC judges that the call request message is about a multi-string trigger, creates a call forwarding number request message containing the destination number, and transmits it to the SCP. The SCP receives the forwarding number request message, extracts and analyzes the multi-string, divides it into the first string and the second string using the token, extracts a call forwarding number corresponding to the second string, and requests the MSC to make call origination to the call forwarding number. |
