A broadcasting receiving apparatus and method for notifying a user of broadcasting data output information of specific contents are provided to inform a user whether broadcasting data designated by the user is output and notify the user of the time when the broadcasting data is output. A broadcasting data receiving apparatus(100) includes an input unit(140) by which a user's instruction signal for requesting a notification signal with respect to specific broadcasting data contents to be transmitted and a notification signal output condition are inputted, a notification signal output condition storage unit(170) for storing the notification signal output condition, and a broadcasting data receiver(110) for receiving broadcasting data corresponding to at least one channel. The broadcasting data receiving apparatus further includes a broadcasting data analyzer(120) for analyzing broadcasting data of a notification channel which is predetermined to output the notification signal to generate meta data, a controller(150) for comparing the meta data with the notification signal output condition and outputting the notification signal when the meta data satisfies the notification signal output condition, and a broadcasting data output unit(130) for outputting the notification signal under the control of the controller.
