<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact planetary gear speed reducer comprising a carrier body bearing and an output shaft bearing each having a smaller size for improving the supporting rigidity of an output shaft and supporting a first carrier body and for supporting the output shaft integrated with a second carrier body, respectively, while balancing loads on the two bearings supporting a planetary gear shaft. <P>SOLUTION: The planetary gear speed reducer comprises the planetary gear shaft 130 connected to an output gear (an initial stage gear) 120 of an initial stage gear mechanism for supporting a planetary gear, the first and second carrier bodies 140, 141 arranged on both axial sides of the planetary gear 150 for operating corresponding to the revolution component of the planetary gear shaft 130, the carrier body bearing 146 for supporting the first carrier body 140 located on the side of the initial gear mechanism, out of the first and second carrier bodies, rotatably relative to a casing 186, the output shaft 170 integrated with the second carrier body 141, and the output shaft bearing 148 for supporting the output shaft 170 rotatably relative to the casing 186.
