PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a postprocessing unit from being drawn from a device body when a paper receiving member interferes with the postprocessing unit. SOLUTION: This postprocessing device 10 is formed by arranging a stapler 38 applying staple processing to paper P in a staple unit 20, by insertably-extractably installing the staple unit 20 in a casing 11 for receiving the paper P sent into from an image forming device 19. The staple unit 20 is provided with a photosensor 56 detecting that the paper receiving member 37 is positioned in a range interfering with the stapler 38 when drawing the staple unit 20 from the casing 11, and a lock means 90 checking the drawing of the staple unit 20 from the casing 11 in a state where the photosensor 56 detects interference.
