<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent protection layer for generating no crack in a transparent electrode layer in forming the transparent electrode layer even when the transparent protection layer reducing an irregularity in thickness of a sealing material is provided, and to provide a color filter and a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: In the color filter provided with the transparent protection layer, the transparent protection layer 17 reducing the irregularity in the thickness of the sealing material 16 has a slit 9 for preventing the occurrence of the cracks of the transparent electrode layer 4. A position of the slit is one upward of a black matrix 2 between coloring pixels. Width W1 of the slit is width W2 or less of the black matrix between the coloring pixels, and the thickness of the transparent protection layer is in a range of 1.0-3.0 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
