<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head lamp supporting structure for an automobile capable of compatibly protecting a pedestrian and ensuring the head lamp mounting strength when the automobile is vibrated. <P>SOLUTION: In the head lamp supporting structure for the automobile having a lower vehicle-mounting part and an upper vehicle-mounting part, a thin-walled embrittled part is provided on the upper vehicle-mounting part, the embrittled part 4 is surrounded by a cover 6 movable in the longitudinal direction of the upper vehicle-mounting part, and a positioning pin 10 which is engaged with the embrittled part 5 to position the cover 6, and a leaf spring 9 extending toward the upper vehicle-mounting part 4 are provided on the cover 6. The positioning pin 10 is broken simultaneously with the slide of the cover 6 outside the embrittled part 5 by the deflection of the leaf spring 9 by the deformation of the upper vehicle-mounting part 4 when high stresses are exerted in a supporting member 1 of the head lamp, and the embrittled part 5 is broken to absorb the high stresses exerted in the supporting member 1 of the head lamp. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
