METHOD FOR PRODUCING PHENOL

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing phenol highly selectively by performing the oxidation of an aromatic compound by using a catalyst and also maintaining high catalyst activity.

SOLUTION: This method for producing the phenol in a liquid phase by reacting the aromatic compound with oxygen and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst loading a precious metal of the group VIII of the periodic table on a carrier and a vanadium compound is characterized by reacting them with adding a β-diketone such as acetylacetone or decalin-1,8-dione to its reaction system.
