Process for coating a hybrid component consisting of two strongly bonded to each other electrolytically loaded (sic) sections of considerably different electrical potential. Before coating the section of lower electrical potential is deactivated with a polymer precoating. The section of lower electrical potential consists of stainless steel and the section of high electrical potential consists of carbon steel. The sections are welded together by laser welding.
