IDLER ROLLER

The invention relates to an idler roller for guiding a thread especially on a godet roller of textile machines. Said idler roller comprises a guiding jacket which is mounted on the circumference of a roller shaft by means of a rolling contact bearing. In order to reduce the starting resistance of the idler roller to a minimum, the guiding jacket is formed by a pot-shaped hollow member which can be produced by forming a metal sheet that has a thickness of <2mm under a combination of tensile and compressive conditions.
