A light controlling structure and a display device having the same are provided to realize a simple structure and a small size in the light controlling structure, thereby producing a small-sized display device having high resolution. A light controlling structure(100) comprises a first electrode(111), a second electrode(112) distanced from the first electrode, at least one heat generating unit(113) electrically connected to the first electrode and the second electrode, and a phase change material(114) contacted with the heat generating unit. The phase change material has a light permeability changed according to temperature. The first electrode is formed of a light permeable material.
