摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that performs optimum balance shift in accordance with a distance to an object. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a lens system 101 including a focusing lens system for imaging an object image on an imaging surface; a CCD 103 for imaging the object image input through the lens system 101 and outputting the image data; an external AF sensor 136 for measuring the distance up to the object by taking at least an area near the center part on the imaging surface as an object area; a focus driver 131 that shifts the focusing lens so as to perform an automatic focusing operation; and a correcting means (CPU 121) for correcting the focusing position based on a correction parameter previously set related to the deviation of the focusing degree of a periphery to the object area. A correction parameter with the correlation of the distance up to the object and the deviation of the focusing degree is provided as the correction parameter, and the optimum correction amount is decided by the correcting means in accordance with the distance measured by the external AF sensor 136 while referring to the parameter, then, the focusing position is corrected by the correcting means based on the decided correction amount.
