PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of conditioning air without deteriorating the comfort of an user even if a failure occurs in communication between control circuits. SOLUTION: In the air conditioner 1 for the vehicle, a front air conditioning ECU4 and a rear air conditioning ECU5 cooperate with each other to control a front air conditioning unit 100 and a rear air conditioning unit 200, respectively. The front air conditioning ECU4 determines whether communication with the rear air conditioning ECU5 is interrupted or not.
